Our Story

Hi — I’m Jarod, the founder and roaster behind Simple Coffee Roasters. What began over ten years ago as a small hobby of roasting fresh, organic coffee for my wife and me has grown.

I started roasting because we wanted better and more affordable coffee. What started as a personal pursuit has grown into a family journey and passion. Today, I roast side-by-side with my youngest son, Jordan, and we both enjoy a good cup of black coffee.

Good coffee should be for everyone — not just for those willing to pay boutique prices. We work hard to keep our coffee accessible so you can enjoy high-quality, carefully roasted beans without stretching your budget.

Organic

Every coffee we roast is 100% organic. That means clean flavor, no shortcuts, and a cup you can feel good about drinking every day. We believe the best coffee starts with the best farming practices. 

Fresh-Roasted

We roast in small batches and ship quickly so you can enjoy the freshness in every cup — vibrant, aromatic, and full of... caffeine. 


Our Coffee

All of our offerings are organic, single-origin, specialty beans sourced from farmers and cooperatives that share our love for quality. Each batch is roasted with intention — balancing sweetness, clarity, and depth — and packed with care.

We typically ship the earlier part of each week, ensuring your coffee arrives within a few days of roasting — whether you place a one-time order or subscribe.

  • Home Drip

    Ratio: 1:16

    Grind: Medium

    Temp: 205

    Brew Time: 4–6 minutes

    Steps:

    1. Add filter and rinse.

    2. Add coffee.

    3. Brew and enjoy.

  • French Press

    Ratio: 1:15

    Grind: Coarse

    Temp: 205

    Brew Time: 4 minutes

    Steps:

    1. Add coffee to press.

    2. Pour hot water and stir.

    3. Steep 4 minutes.

    4. Press slowly and serve.

  • Pour Over

    Ratio: 1:16

    Grind: Medium-fine

    Temp: 205

    Brew Time: 2:30–3:30

    Steps:

    1. Rinse filter and preheat brewer.

    2. Add coffee and level bed.

    3. Bloom with 2x coffee weight for 30–45 seconds.

    4. Continue pouring slowly in stages.

    5. Finish pour by 3 minutes.
